Steve holds a B.A. from the University of California at San Diego. He also holds a M.B.A. and a J.D. from the University of San Diego. Steve was certified to practice law by the supreme court of California and the U.S. District Court. Steve first practiced law with an emphasis in real estate in San Diego. Subsequently, he served as general counsel for a large real estate development company and the managing partner of numerous commercial real estate projects in Southern California. From 1987 to 1998 Steve was a fifty percent partner in Triarc and Triarc Asset Management (TAM); a San Diego based commercial and residential development company. Triarc successfully developed retail, office, industrial, specialty car wash and residential properties despite the difficult real estate market conditions of the late eighties and early nineties in Southern California. TAM managed Triarc’s properties as well as a large number of 3rd party owned properties. In 1998 Steve formed The Focus Group specializing in the development of multi-tenant and single tenant retail properties. The Focus Group has successfully completed over 100 projects, totalling over several million square Feet throughout the United States. In 2009, Mr. Grady began acquiring, rehabilitating, and managing multifamily and other distressed opportunities. Since the Great Recession, Mr. Grady has continued to develop retail projects and has redeveloped over 5,000 multi tenant units.

Steven has over 12 years Real Estate Development experience and obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Davenport University, Michigan, with major in strategic management. He also holds a BSc ( Hons ) in Town Planning from University of Dundee, Scotland and RICS Diploma in Surveying from College of Estate Management, England. Before moving to the USA, Steven had a successful real estate development career with Gladedale Homes and Tilfen Land. Over a 10 year period he was directly involved in acquisition, planning and development of commercial, retail and residential projects worth in excess of $300 million, including Shoebury Garrison, Veridion Park and Thames Innovation Centre all based in Greater London and South East England. With The Focus Group Steven is responsible for bringing forward both tenant “build to suit” and multi-family development projects and over the past year has successfully completed several restaurants including Popeyes, Pieology, Blaze Pizza and Mad Greens. In his spare time, Steven enjoys playing golf and visiting family/friends in the UK.
Carl Wood
Development Manager
Carl has been in ground up commercial retail development for over a decade. He has worked in numerous roles and positions. Most notably in the capacity as a construction manager, a real estate development manager and the owner of NNN Retail Development. He has been involved in nearly one hundred Dollar General transactions and other ground up retail projects. Carl has an MBA and a Business Degree in Finance. He is also a licensed real estate broker in California, Arizona and Nevada.
Jessica LePari
Jessica started out as a Construction Disbursement Officer at Evans Title Company in 2009. She then furthered her career at T-Bird Restaurant Group as Accounts Payable and Receivable Processor in 2013. In 2016, Jessica joined The Focus Group attending to accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable. She has been certified in bookkeeping and accounting, among other areas. As a business major, she continues her education to further her expertise at The Focus Group.
Nancy Medina (Operations/Marketing)
Nancy obtained an associate degree in Science from Grossmont College. After graduating she started working in the medical field, gaining over 10 years of experience as a medical biller. She is always looking to expand her career and try new things. In 2017 she decided to take her career a different path and joined The Focus Group as a marker. Her dedication and determination in work has helped her escalate and achieve a new position with The Focus Group. She now works as a project manager in Florida which has allowed her to demonstrate her skills in the field of construction.
